I am nature’s greatest miracle.

Week 1 (4-7-2024)

Wow, I am pretty into scroll number 4. Affirming our uniqueness, the miraculous truth that we are beautiful and the culmination of evolution. That is powerful! I like the momentum this scroll is building on the last three. First we built the habit, next we incorporated love (which is definitely a choice we intentionally make each day), now we continue to be consistent, and understanding that there is unlimited potential in ourselves. It’s there, waiting for us to unlock it or reveal it. There is something great about this! Highlight your individual strengths and abilities, and celebrate that. I love that in this we should also remained balanced. Personal and professional lives, although they often crossover, should remain separate when it comes to work and family. But what it really comes back to is acknowledging that we should give our work the attention it requires and deserves, AND our family the love, attention, and support it deserves. Be present when doing one or the other, and honor them and their time. I think that is great advice on how to succeed in a career and family.

Week 2 (4-21-2024)

Another week already!! Let’s celebrate our uniqueness, and become the truest version of our self. I love the connection to nature, to all of time. We are an evolution of all that came before us. If we just think like this, choose to believe this it will be so; it gives hope that anyone, quite literally anyone, can succeed in life because we are miracles. The miracle of gestation, the miracle of birth, the miracle of love, and the miracle of God that we are! I appreciate how Og separates us from other things (although I’d like to believe God built everything with joy, hope, and love) with the understanding that- for the most part- we are created with love. That would be powerful for everyone to feel this way, and when you do, you actually have a lot of gratitude for your parents. No one can be you, but YOU. Reminds me of a negative person who said, “Others can do what you do. You’re not the only one.”, and my first thought was exactly this: no they can’t because they are NOT me! Coupling this understanding of miracle with the principle of consistency is what allows us to extract the inner most being that God created us as. I’m with it man. Let’s go!

Week 3 (4-28-2024)

Week three finished on an incredibly high note. I went to Chicago on Sunday to witness the final sermon of my Godfather as the Senior Pastor of the Church of God in Christ. Somehow he expressed this scroll very well, “You are a piece of the Master; that’s why you are a Master Piece!”. We are a unique creature of God. There was a pivotal moment too when his daughter, the newly ordained Pastoress, shared that she cannot fill the shoes of her father, but she can walk in his footsteps. This reminds me of the passage in the scroll that explains that we must keep work at work and family with family. It’s important to balance these two and not let either destroy the other. We all must learn to compartmentalize our roles in life. We are unique creatures of God and nature. I find that indisputable, and love reading the line that no one is like me, nor can produce my child. That is the truth, and it- like ourselves, is awesome!

Week 4 (last 9 days)

Wow, reading this with my newborn son on the last day of this scroll had a different impact on me. I love the point of: none can produce my child! Not to mention how unless we put these gifts that we have been given, and the miracle we are, to good use, then we will rot and die. I know that feeling- like you’re withering away spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally. I have been there a handful of times, and reading this is helpful to know that we all face this problem and dilemma. Yet, should we realize what a miracle we are then we have unlimited potential! All those challenges of the past are incredible opportunities of growth. And when I look back, thinking of the lessons I have gained. I believe that; that every instance of pain or downfall has been an opportunity to grow. Believe. Believe in You. Believe that you are nature’s greatest miracle!
